Award
Osawa Award and Iijima Award
Purpose
The Fullerenes, Nanotubes and Graphene Research Society has established the Osawa Award, the Iijima Award, the Osawa Award for Young Scientists, and the Iijima Award for Young Scientists in order to recognize superior symposium presentations by young researchers (in principle, 40 years of age or younger).
Application

  • Method:
    To apply for the Osawa Award or the Iijima Award, mail the following documents to the Society’s secretariat.
  • Documents:
    1. A simple curriculum vitae (1 sheet of A4 paper. No particular format required.)
    2. Reason for award-worthiness (1 sheet of A4 paper. No particular format required.)
    3. Summary of presentation to be given at symposium (1 sheet of A4 paper)

  • Remarks:
    1. The applicant must be (or applying to be) a member of the FNTG Society or applying to be a member.
    2. The result of the first selection will be notified by early August.
    3. The applicant who passed the first selection will present an oral presentation in the symposium. The presentation duration will be 20 min (10 min presentation and 10 min discussion).
    4. The applicant who does not passed the first selection will present an oral or a poster presentation in the symposium, depending on the program committee's decision.
Young Scientist Poster Award
Purpose
The Fullerenes, Nanotubes and Graphene Research Society has established the Young Scientist Poster Award to recognize superior poster presentations by students and young researchers (in principle, 31 years of age or younger at the time of application).
Application
  • Deadline: Same as the abstract submission deadline
  • Method: Please select 'Poster presentation' as a presentation type, and check the poster award application in the abstract submission website.
  • Remarks:
    • Please submit your abstract as a poster presentation.
    • The applicant must be 31 years old or younger at the moment of the submission.
    • The applicant must be (or applying to be) a member of FNTG Society.
    • If you are a student, please obtain a permission of the application from your supervisor.
