The Fullerenes, Nanotubes and Graphene Research Society has established the Osawa Award, the Iijima Award, the Osawa Award for Young Scientists, and the Iijima Award for Young Scientists in order to recognize outstanding presentations at the Fullerenes-Nanotubes-Graphene General Symposiuym by young researchers under the age of 40.
Application
Award targets:
The topics of the Society, such as theory, experiment, and application of nanocarbons such as fullerenes, nanotubes, and graphene, atomic layer materials, and related materials, are all eligible, and the selection committee will decide whether the candidate will be considered for the Osawa Award or the Iijima Award.
Deadline:
July 11 (Fri), 2025 (must arrive)
Even if the deadline for symposium presentation applications is extended, the deadline for Award applications will not be extended.

Presentation abstract (1 page, A4 size)
Simple curriculum vitae (1-2pages, A4 size, any format)
Application method
Please send the complete set of application documents to secretariat@fntg.jp by email by the deadline, with the subject line “Society Award Application Documents”.
Remarks:
The applicant must be (or applying to be) a member of the FNTG Society at the time of application.
Applicants living in Taiwan must be (or applying to be) a members of the FNTG Society at the time of application.
If you wish to apply, please also apply for an oral presentation on the presentation application site, using the same abstract as the award application.
Those who pass the document screening will be notified by the first week of August.
At the symposium, those who passed the document screening will give an oral presentation in English as a “Young Scholar Spotlight Lecture” and be judged.
The presentation time is scheduled to be 22 minutes (12 minutes for the presentation and 10 minutes for discussions).
If a applicant does not pass the document screening, the program committee will decide whether he/she will give an oral presentation or a poster presentation.
Young Scientist Poster Award
Purpose
The Fullerenes, Nanotubes and Graphene Research Society has established the Young Scientist Poster Award to recognize superior poster presentations by students and young researchers (in principle, 31 years of age or younger at the time of application).
Application
Deadline: Same as the abstract submission deadline
Method: Please select 'Poster presentation' as a presentation type, and check the poster award application in the abstract submission website.

The applicant must be (or applying to be) a member of the FNTG Society at the time of application.
Applicants living in Taiwan must be (or applying to be) a members of the FNTG Society at the time of application.
Please submit your abstract as a poster presentation.
The applicant must be 31 years old or younger at the moment of the submission.
If you are a student, please obtain a permission of the application from your supervisor.
